Names as in passport and other personal details are required to be submitted as soon as possible upon
confirmation of the trip to aid in documentation required for travel, namely, insurance cover, bus manifest, air or
train ticketing and for park entry permits. We recommend that a photocopy of all participants passports and other
relevant travel documentation be made and kept in a central file for safekeeping. You will need to let us know if
you have certain dietary restrictions so that proper arrangements can be made for you.

Tr a ve l Do cuments
Please check the validity of your international passport (it should have at least a 6mth validity from the date of
departure from SIN), also make sure that the photo in the passport actually looks like you! If are not holding a red
Singapore passport, check if you need a visa to enter into Indonesia. If you are a Singapore Permanent Resident,
bring your blue I/C, Green-Card and other relevant travel documents.
Cl othin g - body
Light, comfortable cotton wear, or the state-of-the-art quick-drying clothes. Casual wear for most occasions
during travel and during most activities. Shorts and T-shirts are good around town and for the start of the trek,
whereas long pants are highly recommended for the summit climb to keep the wind off your legs. You will need a
thick sweater or a fleece jacket to keep you warm through the night. A windbreaker or a waterproof jacket will
protect you against the wind. A simple poncho will keep the rain off you and your bag. Do not climb wearing jeans
or heavy cotton pants, you need your pants to be comfortable enough for you to do some rock scrambling and
high steps while trekking
without getting abrasions.
he ad & ha nds
Your body heat is mostly lost through the head
so pop on a beanie or a warm cap to keep the heat in and the
cold out! Sunblock to keep your face looking the same shade as the rest of the body and lip balm to keep the lips
kissable! Fingers will need to be kept toasty in mittens or warm gloves. Not those used to sell durians mind you!
Fo otwe a r
Proper shoes maketh or breaketh your climb. Seriously! DO NOT wear a pair that is too small for you or too large!
Neither should you wear a pair of shoes you have kept in the cupboard for 1year and only let it see the light of
day on the day of the climb. Practice walking in your preferred pair of shoes before the trek
you are going to
survive a 19km -21.5km trek in that pair of shoes. DO NOT bring well-worn shoes that have no more proper
gripping traction on the bottom of the shoes. Such footwear will not be able to properly support you when
scrambling over slippery terrain. Expect your shoes to get damp on this climb.
Spare socks are essential to prevent blisters and will help to cushion your feet
and CUT them toenails! Your
feet will be jamming into the front portion of your shoes as you make your descent, we dont wish for you to lose
a couple of toenails along the way. A pair of slippers is good for use around town and proper river sandals are
essential for water activities. Throw in a small bottle of foot or body powder if you wish!
Equ i pment
A flashlight is an essential item to pack, along with sufficient NEW batteries and some spare ones. They are a
MUST BRING for any outdoor trip and overseas travel. You will need a flashlight for the summit push and
especially if you are on an expedition. Bring a headlamp or attach a sling to your hand torch to allow yourself
`hands-free movement while trekking. Sleeping bags are provided for the nights up on Rinjani; its your choice if
you wish to pack in a thin liner or a personal sleeping mat. Do note that having a trekking pole is gonna be
extremely useful
if you know of a friend who owns one
try to borrow it & remember to treat it as if it were your
own!
Medi c ati on
You must be medically fit to go overseas. If you are cleared to go & must have your daily dosage of medication,
you are to bring them along. A basic first aid kit should include some basic meds, an assortment of plasters, mild
antiseptic cream, cotton swabs and tissues. If asthmatic, do pack your inhaler.
